If we had to name one thing better than art jamming, it would be art jamming with a drink in handPaint Blush is an art studio in Singapore that has recently launched sip-and-paint sessions, where participants are encouraged to bring their favourite food and beverages — the drinks can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, that's up to you! While the concept was a hit in the United States and Europe, it is still considered a novelty in Southeast Asia.

Art Instructor Hard At WorkPhoto from Paint Blush Singapore

At Paint Blush, participants sign up for sessions after picking the reference painting that they would like to emulate. As they are led by an experienced art instructor, individuals with little to no art background can rest easy and not worry about not knowing how to start.

Although the instructor will give the class a step-by-step demonstration, all participants have full artistic control and are encouraged to let their creativity run wild, from switching up the colours to introducing new subjects.

Paint Blush Co-founders: Ashley & Teck YongPhoto from Paint Blush Singapore

"We are not here to teach, we are here to guide everyone towards infusing their unique interpretation of the chosen image into their painting," says Ashley Low, the co-founder of Paint Blush and owner of a family photography studio. Along with co-founder Teck Yong, a 23-year-old student entrepreneur, she conceptualised a unique, fun, and engaging experience that will allow people from all walks of life to discover a brand new side of Singapore's art scene.

Above all, the team behind Paint Blush want their participants to feel the uplifting power of social communion through eating, drinking, and making art. In between instructions, the studio also blasts pop music and oldies that will have you singing along in a heartbeat. And if you're feeling nervous about putting paint on a blank canvas, all you need to do is sip some wine for liquid courage.
