Planning a trip to Hong Kong soon? Good news: The city’s government is giving away air tickets to overseas travellers from 1 March 2023 as part of its “Hello Hong Kong” campaign to boost tourism in the region, so don’t pass up on this opportunity for a free trip to the city.

This giveaway will see 500,000 airline tickets up for grabs, issued by airlines Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Express and Hong Kong Airlines over six months in three phases. The first wave (from 1 March) is to people across Southeast Asia, the second (from 1 April) is to those in mainland China, and the last (from 1 May) is for the rest of the world.

Hong Kong citizens are not left out, too, for 160,000 tickets have been set aside for locals, which will be distributed from 1 July 2023.

Although these air tickets are free, lucky winners will need to pay related surcharges, fees and taxes. But given that a one-way ticket and return trip to Hong Kong from Singapore usually costs upwards of $115 and $216, respectively, you will still be saving hundreds of bucks. So those keen can enter your names here starting 1 March to try your luck.

Tourists can also look forward to receiving a set of goodies each starting 2 February 2023, which includes a complimentary drink from over 100 bars and restaurants, as well as cash vouchers to use at attractions, shops and dining outlets.
